ISPT and our development partner Aliro Group are delivering a new 7,140 sqm PET plastic recycling facility within PortLink Industrial Estate in Altona North, Melbourne. This will be one of the largest of its kind in Victoria, capable of processing the equivalent of 1 billion 600ml plastic bottles each year.

The new space will be home to Circular Plastics Australia, a joint venture that aims to transform Australia’s circular economy with innovative plastic recycling partnerships. The space features state-of-the-art sorting, washing, extrusion and decontamination technology to allow conversion of more than 20,000 tonnes of high-quality recycled PET resin.

Tim Jackson, General Manager of Logistics & Warehousing says this facility will drive a significant increase in Australia’s PET recycling capacity.

“This project represents an exciting partnership between some of the biggest players in the recycling industry, Pact Group, Cleanaway, Asahi Beverages and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners. We’re thrilled to be delivering a one-of-a-kind space that caters to their needs and supports large scale recycling in Australia.”

PortLink Logistics Estate is a key property in ISPT’s active development pipeline, which has over 200 ha of land across 9 estates in key Australian markets. The project is supported by Sustainability Victoria under the Australian Government’s Recycling Modernisation Fund and the Victorian Government’s circular economy plan, Recycling Victoria: a new economy.

The joint venture is known as Circular Plastics Australia.
