We’re pleased to announce that as of 1 January 2025, base building electricity across our nationwide property portfolio is being fueled by 100 per cent renewable energy, reducing our carbon footprint and delivering operational cost savings for our tenant partners.

The 100 per cent renewable goal is a result of the successful negotiation of our final Power Purchase Agreements with ZEN Energy in Queensland and Alinta Energy in Western Australia, which were completed in 2024. This achievement further demonstrates our commitment to leading with ambition by achieving another ‘Flag on the Hill’ target as part of our ESG Strategy several months ahead of schedule.

Transitioning to 100 per cent renewable energy offers practical benefits and future-proofing advantages, including enhanced operational efficiency of our assets, reducing harmful energy outputs, and delivering operational cost savings for our tenant partners, all while demonstrating our industry-leading ESG capabilities as a partner of choice to investors, partners and customers. With this target achieved, the emissions footprint across our national portfolio is nearly 50,000 metric tons of CO2 lower each year compared to our FY2020 baseline – equivalent to 12,000 less petrol cars on the road.

While achieving 100 per cent renewable energy is a big step forward, we acknowledge this is just the beginning.

Moving forward, we are focusing on transforming our assets into energy hubs, by expanding on-site power generation over the next decade, including opportunities for battery storage facilities.

Our vision is to eventually create a virtual energy network where our assets not only generate and sustain their own power but also feed energy back into the grid to offset the energy used at other buildings. This approach aligns with our purpose of creating better futures and delivering sustainable, long-term value for our investors.
