Reducing modern slavery in supply chains
As property leaders, it’s important we look for, and report on, the risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains and take actions to address those risks.
Our FY2022 Modern Slavery Statement, is coordinated by ISPT’s Modern Slavery Working Group in consultation with internal and external stakeholders. It highlights the newest initiatives we’re taking to combat modern slavery, including:
- A deep dive with construction contractor, Buildcorp, into the supply chains of glass-reinforced concrete panels to gain visibility on suppliers.
- Continuing to build awareness of modern slavery and provide reporting channels through internal training and external communication at our properties.
- A review of our remediation action plan.
- Development of a new 3 year Modern Slavery Workplan with Pillar Two, a leading human rights consultancy. The workplan will take our position from strong governance to increased action.
Steven Peters, Acting General Manager, ESG said
“ISPT is committed to managing modern slavery risks, our priority remains on targeting sectors within our supply chains which have been assessed to exhibit the most severe risks, such as construction, solar panels, cleaning services, security services, and waste management.
We continue to work closely with our suppliers and collaborate with like-minded partners to become a stronger voice against modern slavery in our broader environment.”
