PortLink Logistics Estate next round of development
A sod-turning ceremony has marked another major step forward for one of ISPT’s industrial development sites, the PortLink Logistics Estate in Melbourne’s Altona North.
Construction has now begun on a 9,970 sqm intermodal logistics facility for Team Global Express on the 41,000 sqm site, with all the strategic benefits of PortLink’s close access to road, port and rail networks.
PortLink is a prime grade industrial estate located in the core of the Western Melbourne industrial market, with a total built-out area of approx 130,000 sqm.
Tim Jackson, ISPT’s General Manager, Industrial, joined Chief Transformation Officer for Team Global Express, Mario Philippou, and Development Director for Aliro Group, Jason Blake in kicking off this next stage of the estate.
Tim Jackson said:
“PortLink Industrial Estate is a master planned estate. To date we have developed out two premium grade, five-star green builds for our customers, Winnings and Officeworks. There’s a lot of activity on the residual estate with three more projects underway, including the new facility for Team Global Express.”
Having been recognised in 2022 as a global leader in ESG by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), we worked closely with Team Global Express, along with our key development partner Aliro Group, to provide a customised solution targeting a 5 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating. This includes initiatives such as renewable energy via solar arrays, EV charging stations, rainwater harvesting, and electric forklifts.
Qanstruct, the building partner for the development is expected to complete the logistics hub in Q3 of 2023.
The development is another addition to the ISPT Industrial portfolio, which is currently valued at $2.5 billion, with estates that will total 2.4 million square metres once all development is completed.
