ISPT’s proactive approach to cladding risk
ISPT has completed a $10M project to replace over 12,000 sqm of combustible cladding at three National Circuit properties in Canberra. Acting ahead of legislative change, we’re successfully positioning our Canberra properties for a safe and sustainable future.
An Australian first
ISPT take all safety risks extremely seriously and we’ve taken swift action in alignment with our commitment to ESG excellence. This project was one of the first in Australia to use a custom-made Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) recycling process by Ecoloop. At 3-5 National Circuit alone, we diverted over 25 tonnes of material from landfill, with 99% of material successfully recycled.
Alicia Maynard, General Manager, Sustainability & Technical Services says
“We started this project in 2017, after news broke of the fire risks associated with ACP. Rather than wait for legislative change, we developed a process to rigorously assess all ISPT properties and develop plans to mitigate their exposure, starting with our Canberra portfolio.
“Working with our construction partner SHAPE, we’ve now replaced the ACP with new non-combustible materials at all three impacted National Circuit buildings. It’s one of the ways we’re committed to investing in a safe and sustainable long-term future.”
