ISPT Wi-Fi Privacy Policy

ISPT Pty Ltd (ABN 28 064 041 283) (“ISPT”) complies with our obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles that form part of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you sign up to use our Wi-Fi Service, the terms of this Privacy Policy will apply to that use. ISPT may collect personal and other information in the circumstances set out below. We refer to ISPT in this policy as “us”, “we”, or “ISPT”.

What personal information ISPT collects?

When you register to use any Wi-Fi provided in any ISPT property, we may ask for:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your date of birth; and
  • your telephone number or residential address.

We may also collect the following information during your visit:

  • the domain name from which you accessed our Wi-Fi,
  • your MAC address and device name;
  • the date and time you accessed our Wi-Fi;
  • your data usage;
  • type of device and location and proximity of your wireless device in the property, arrival and departure time;
  • cookies which enable tracking or provide other information regarding your interaction with the Wi-Fi;
  • the web browser that you are using and the URL of any webpage you accessed using our Wi-Fi;
  • audience measurement information which may be collected passively using various technologies that identify the demographic, age group and gender of shoppers; and
  • if you sign onto our Wi-Fi service via a third-party social-networking site (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, or Google+), publicly accessible social media posts and any personal information we obtain from those sites.

Why do we collect this information?

We are collecting this information (and may use, hold or share this information with our trusted business partners) for the following purposes:

  • to measure and analyse customer or visitor behaviour in order to improve our properties and otherwise in connection with our business;
  • so we can tell which web pages are the most popular and where customers or visitors spend most of their time;
  • to send to you special deals and discounts, surveys and other marketing materials based on your location or known web usage;
  • to improve our ISPT Wi-Fi Service experience;
  • for the purposes of and incidental to your use of ISPT Wi-Fi Service (if applicable); and
  • for general research and profiling purposes, including customer demographics, interests and behaviours based on personal information and other information provided to us.  This research may be compiled and analysed on an aggregate basis, and we may share this aggregate data with our affiliates, agents and business partners. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. We may also disclose aggregated information in order to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
  • In addition to the purposes set out above, information may be used in connection with the management and security of the ISPT properties, which are under video and camera surveillance. The information may be provided to law enforcement agencies, government bodies, insurers, ISPT staff and subcontractors, retailers and third parties who provide ISPT with services from time to time.

We may also link information obtained via our Wi-Fi Service to information collected via other sources to obtain a better understanding of our customers.

How your personal information is stored and kept secure?

Information about you is held in a secure database that is managed by ISPT’s preferred Wi-Fi provider. It may also be stored within databases managed by ISPT’s trusted property managers. These databases are managed in secure locations within Australia.

Disclosing your information

We will disclose the personal information we hold about you from your Wi-Fi use only in certain specific circumstances, when:

  • you agree to the disclosure;
  • we use it for the purposes we collected it; or
  • the disclosure is required or authorised by law.

In these circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to:

  • our property managers for marketing purposes;
  • trusted third parties who provide services to ISPT from time to time; and
  • government agencies as part of our statutory obligations

You may request that your information is not used for the purposes of marketing. To do this, please contact the ISPT Privacy Officer via the details outlined below.

Right of access to your information

You have the right to access, update and correct your personal information held by us. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is up-to-date, accurate and complete. If you wish to access, update or correct your personal information, please contact the ISPT Privacy Officer.

Privacy Complaints

If you believe we have breached our privacy obligations or your privacy rights in any way, please contact the ISPT Privacy Officer. We will respond to your complaint as soon as possible, and within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy relates to our current privacy standards. We may vary our Privacy Policy from time to time and the updated Policy will be promptly made available at this location.
